PROBLEM
While connected to Windows Server 2000/2003 in a remote desktop (terminal services) session, and where Adobe Acrobat 6.x is installed, users may have problems creating PDFs. Printing to the Adobe PDF driver will result in a print job simply hanging in the queue and a printing failed message.
APPARENT SOLUTION
In order for users to successfully create PDFs using Adobe Acrobat when logged into terminal server, an administrator must be logged into the server's console session. This is a limitation caused (or created on purpose) by Adobe and is not an issue with Windows.
So to ensure that remote users can properly create PDFs, an administrator needs to log into the server physically and then lock the computer using CTRL+ALT+DEL. OR, using the RDP console switch, an administrator can log in remotely as well.
