Recycling

It is critically important to donate or recycle computer equipment that you no longer have any use for. We are committed to making recycling easy and accessible for our customers by providing our office as a drop-off center for computers, monitors, and other related equipment. We only recover fees charged to us by EcoCycle, and charge nothing for our time to process the equipment.

  • There are 4-8 pounds of lead in every computer monitor, and there is lead in most of the solder points in electronic product circuit boards. Between 1997 and 2004, 315 million computers became obsolete, along with millions of other electronic products.

  • By 2005, most people will trade in their computers for new models within 2 years of purchasing them.

  • Dumping 315 million computers into landfills amounts to the introduction of 1.2 billion pounds of lead, 2 million pounds of cadmium, and 400,000 pounds of mercury into waste streams.
